What Fossils can you find at Isle of Sheppey?


(UK Fossils LIVE Event - Looking for Fossils) - 2003

There is always something for everyone to find if you are new to Sheppey, small fossil plants and seeds, small shells, gastropods for instance, fossil worms, ray teeth and if your lucky sharks teeth and vertebrae. During the winter/spring months where scouring takes place complete turtle shells have been found, complete fish jaws, snake bones, shark, crabs, lobsters and much much more.

Keep a close eye open for fossil plants, these are quite common and hundreds of species have been recorded. We recommend that anyone interested in reading more about the fossils found at Sheppey and to see a vast database of finds, goto the website:
